Hello Skiers!
I wanted to pass along a message from Coach Lee. Feel free to let me (or Lee or Greta) know if you have any questions. We will miss him immensely!
Sincerely,
Emily
To all LVHS Nordic skiers and Parents,
By now you’ve all moved on to your next seasonal challenge, be it athletic and/or academic. I’m writing to let you know that I too have made a change. It’s with mixed feelings that I’m announcing that I will not be coaching next ski season. After five years of coaching it’s time I spent more time with my business. As a chiropractor I’ve made the transition to working on animals, predominantly horses and dogs. I’ve built up my practice to the point where I can no longer afford to be away from it during the winter season.
Nordic skiing is my first passion and it’s been incredible to be able to share that with all of you. I want to thank you for that opportunity. Thanks also to those of you who endured listening to my interminable stories of skiing and skiers, domestic and Norwegian, contemporary and “ancient history”.
It’s my desire to emphasize what great coaching you have with Emily and Greta. Greta comes from a lifetime of nordic competition including a collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire. Emily has two combined California/Nevada state high school championships and three NCAA finals (while skiing for Montana State University) in her resume’. She is presently a certified personal trainer. You have world-class coaching here and hopefully my replacement will be of Greta and Emily’s caliber in regards to their athletic ability, coaching skills, and humility. They are a gift to Lander.
Though I won’t be coaching, I will be around. I look forward to seeing you on the trails and following your ski careers. Thank you all again.
Sincerely,
Coach Lee Lofgren
