Hey Skiers –
Lander Biathlon Club is hosting a mountain bike biathlon on Sunday June 28th in conjunction with The Wyoming Outdoor Weekend and Expo takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The race is late enough on Sunday to linger over a cup of coffee, early enough that you can get back home at a reasonable time.It will be held at the biathlon range on the Lander Nordic Ski Association Beaver Creek ski trails. The riding portion isn’t technical (it’s on 12’ wide ski trails) but you get to shoot! Four bouts of 5 rounds, with 5 bike laps of riding (about 15km total). Lander Biathlon Club has rifles* for use, and there will be an open range session to practice prior to the event. A required safety session for first time participants is the evening before, 6:30-7:30 at Gannett Peak Sports

A kids (ages 9-13) biathlon follows the adult race, with 4 laps of biking (total of about 3km) and 3 bouts of shooting.

Early registration ends on June 13th. More details and registration can be found at landerbiathlon.blogspot.com

Please spread the word! We’re not all geeky about the competitive side, but we DO take our fun rather seriously. More people= more fun, so hope you’ll join us!
